    Does using a charcoal make the smell less natural and more like charcoal? Is there a more natural way of burning copal?

    I heard from my flute maker to not shake the saliva out. He said to blow through the mouth peice and dab the saliva from there. Are both methods okay? Also, I love to play a lot throughout the day. Is this bad for the flute? I get the liquid out often but I'm sure a small amount is always left in. Is there an oiling process as well?

    • @QuetzalcoatlMusic
      @QuetzalcoatlMusic 11 днів тому

      I have always suggested the shake method, never had an issue with it. Yes no problem playing throughout the day, if you remember maybe just overnight leave the saddles off so the flute can dry completely. We do have an oiling video as well, but that video is only suggest for our flutes. Some makes use different oils or even lacquers 🙏

    The sound of Native American instruments have always appealed to me. Thanks for giving me some insight into these instruments & their purpose. I have recently acquired a Native American flute & am learning how to play it. Not only do I like the instrument, now I have some understanding of it's history & meaning. I now see the importance of the trilogy so I will be adding a drum & rattle to the collection. Thanks.

    What a beautiful and touching video! Could you please let me know why you let the smoke get inside the conch horn at the end of the ceremony? In Korea, we believe smoke can lead the spirits to the ceremonial venue, and sometimes, smoke can also purify.

    Dear Mr. Martinez! I was blessed to encounter you in 2009 at the gorgeous Native American Art Museum adjacent to the Visitor's Center in Grand Tetons National Park. At that time, I had a most unusual and powerful emotional response to your offerings, and ended up accompanied by your exquisite creation, "Fire Horse", yellow cedar, key of A, that you'd hand-painted in traditional overlaid style. Bison hair, macau feathers at the "bridle". I adore him and have taken him with me on all of my adventuring... he sings his own sweet song, and I am finally stretching my skills to elicit more variety. Every time we play together, it is a Sacred Ritual for me, and I always feel deeply grateful to you for the mindful, intentional gifts that you give to this world through your instruments and teachings. At some point, I will reach out to you to consider a double or triple drone companion! All Gratitude, Blessings, and Beauty!
